Chapter: 2989
Blushing, Alexis bit her lower lip, admitting, “Tonight, I'll let you know."

Smirking, Leonel countered, "Nights aren't for such talk. They're for romance and other delightful pursuits."

Alexis crinkled her nose, maintaining her insistence that she would discuss matters with him later in the night.

Leonel escorted her downstairs, opened the door courteously, and took care of her briefcase. As she settled into the car, he leaned down to give her a kiss. In a soft and tender tone, he uttered, "Alexis, if you agree, you'll have a perfect husband."

Alexis, securing her seat belt, retorted with a grin, "You must have quite the audacity to say something like that."

Glancing up at him, she remarked, “But I must admit, last night was truly enjoyable."

Leonel's Adam's apple bobbed as he wished he could whisk her back to the apartment for a few more intimate moments. She was undeniably, excruciatingly, driving him wild.

In high spirits, Alexis headed to the law firm.

The morning found her with some leisure. Engaging in a game of pool, Leonel's words lingered in her thoughts.

The idea of getting married did have its appeal.

By chance, Alexis received an invitation from a college classmate to attend her wedding. Given their amicable relationship, Alexis accepted without hesitation.

Casually, her classmate inquired, “What about you? Have you found your Mr. Right?"

Within her social circle, Alexis had earned the reputation of being unattached.

A hint of self-satisfaction crept in. Clearing her throat, she revealed, “Actually, I've recently started dating someone. Our relationship is blossoming, and marriage seems imminent."

Alexis’ classmate on the other end of the Line promptly extended her congratulations.

After ending the call, Alexis absently touched her face, sensing a slight stiffness.

Did she perhaps indulge in laughter a bit too Liberally?

Riding on her good mood, Alexis opted for another round of play.

At that moment, a knock echoed through the door, announcing the arrival of her secretary. "Miss Fowler, a Miss Flores is here, claiming to be an old classmate of yours."
