Chapter: 3625
Waylen had seen the newspaper and surmised from his son's grumpy tone that they had slept together, but Melissa hadn't acknowledged their relationship afterward.

The father experienced a mix of satisfaction and slight offense.

Marcus was really useless in matters of love and relationships!

Marcus didn't have time for this, ending the call abruptly before Sylvia entered to announce, "Mr. Fowler, Miss Finch is here! Looks like she brought you some... sweet treats."

Violette?

Marcus frowned. "Tell her I don't like sweets."

Sylvia was about to head out and relay the message but stopped when Marcus changed his mind. "Never mind, let her in!"

Sylvia was taken aback by Marcus' sudden shift.

Summoning her courage, she said, "Mr. Fowler, I know you might be feeling a bit down, but..."

Interrupting her, Marcus focused on his documents. “What are you thinking? Just let her in.”

Sylvia went to call Violette.

When she arrived, Violette, dressed in a demure and sweet dress, presented the treats with a gentle smile. They weren't the extravagant desserts, but slices of a simple pie.

“Marcus, I know you love these."

Violette said sweetly as she arranged the treats on the table, laying out the treats as if planning a picnic.

The newspaper from this morning instilled a sense of crisis within the Finch family.

Though the woman who spent the night with Marcus remained unidentified, everyone assumed it was Melissa.

Despite her concerns, Violette desperately wished to become Marcus' wife.

Wiping away her tears, Violette approached Marcus with a facade of happiness.

Setting aside his paperwork, Marcus observed the sweets, realizing that Violette must have looked into him and assumed he liked such treats. However, he recalled that he had only indulged in them that time in that simple cafe because he was with Melissa.

Years had passed, and Marcus no longer indulged in these desserts with Melissa. Instead, his craving had shifted to the passionate activities of the previous night. Violette, however, remained oblivious to this.
