Chapter: 3846
Albert took a slow drag on his cigarette, motioning for the bodyguard to leave.
Once the door shut, Daisy threw dignity to the wind, wrecking everything in the suite. She yelled, not holding back, "You may not have seen her off, but your heart's gone with her, hasn't it? What's so special about her, Albert? She's just a naive girl. It's your money she's after, isn't it? You could buy a dozen of her kind with your money."
Albert paid no mind to her rampage.
But Daisy painted Jessie in a bad light. Albert couldn't hold back, grabbing Daisy by the collar and pushing her towards the French window. His veins bulged on his forehead as he tightened his grip.
Leaning in, he demanded, "What about you? At least I'm not cheating on my spouse! I bet you've been busy with your lover."
Daisy sobbed. "That's because you won't touch me."
After a while into their marriage, Daisy realized it wasn't that Albert couldn't perform but he simply didn't want her at all.
Daisy put on a gentle smile. “When you were all over that Jessie woman, you were willing to spend your energy, huh? Albert, our marriage is just a facade. Can you blame me for seeking some solace?"
"A facade? Then let's divorce."
Daisy fell silent, eyes locked on the man before her.
She sensed his seriousness.
He truly wanted out. Besides harboring feelings for someone else, there was another reason he couldn't stand her anymore. But she wasn't always like this. When they wed, she was pure and sweet. It was him who drove her to this madness and ruined her.
Daisy burst into laughter as tears of devastation streamed down her cheeks.
In a low voice, she murmured, “Albert, I won't divorce you. You won't ditch me for her. I won't let you go for the rest of my life."
Albert brushed her off. "Whatever!"
Daisy believed Albert wanted a divorce to be with Jessie. She was unaware his disgust for her ran deeper. He pushed her aside, ready to leave.
But Daisy relented. Wrapping her arms around Albert from behind, she croaked, “Albert, I just love you. I can't bear seeing you look at her."
Albert berated Daisy, accusing her of being crazy.
He shoved her aside and left the suite, leaving her seething with rage.
Why? Why couldn't she hold onto him?
