Chapter: 3918
In the corridor, Jessie clutched her clothes, tears streaming.
Emma, startled, called out, “Miss Green!"
Taking a shaky breath, Jessie asked, "Where's the restroom? I... I need a moment."
Emma nodded solemnly, leading Jessie to the bathroom.
"No one uses this one. I'll be outside. Just holler if you need anything."
Jessie shook her head. "Don't wait on me. But thank you."
As the door closed behind her, Jessie slumped against it, collapsing to the floor in tears.
Three years had passed, yet Albert had remained the same old jerk.
Emma, unsure of what to do, heard footsteps and saw Albert approaching. “Mr. Waston!" she exclaimed.
In a hushed tone, she murmured, "She's crying real bad."
Albert held a paper bag, gazing at the door as sobs echoed from within. “When she's out, give her these clothes. Her shirt's got a missing button."
His words caught Emma off guard.
Albert glanced at the door once more, setting down the bag.
With a heavy sigh, he turned and left. Truth was, he wanted to tell Jessie he hadn't moved on either.
But what could he do?
He was married. Couldn't just divorce for Jessie. Had his own commitments.
Yet now his wife was gone. He knew he was selfish but he yearned for Jessie.
He'd let go if Axell was the real deal for her, but Axell was a snob. Didn't deserve her. She deserved the world's best.
Emma watched Albert's retreating figure, sensing his loneliness.
The bathroom door creaked open. Jessie washed off her makeup, looking pure and lovely.
