Chapter: 3961
So calm, she even wondered if she really liked Axell at all. Maybe she had only picked him because he'd make a decent hubby.
In this whole wide world, she could tie the knot with anyone she fancied, except Albert...
Jessie glanced down and muttered, "This isn't about you, Mr. Waston.
Let me go. We aren't that close!"
Albert locked eyes with her.
In a heartbeat, he wrapped her in his arms, and suddenly, his scent engulfed her...
And the warmth of his hug...
Albert's lips were near Jessie's, his face right in front of hers, but he didn't push further.
He cradled her face, softly kissing her lips. Wanting more but not wanting to embarrass her, he hesitated.
Jessie was shocked.
Did Albert even realize what he was doing?
Feeling awkward, she turned away. His lips grazed her cheek, yet he held onto her, fingers intertwined.
In a husky voice, Albert whispered, "Jessie, you clearly don't Like him. Why waste time on someone you don't love?"
Jessie bit her lip, retorting, “Whether I love someone is none of your business. Just let me go."
But Albert couldn't just release her.
Jessie had been trying hard to find a boyfriend and settle down, but Albert knew Axell wasn't the one for her. Right when Albert was about to kiss Jessie impulsively, the staircase door creaked open.
Elsie's voice interrupted, "Mr. Waston, Miss Jeslyn is awake and asking for you."
Her eyes then widened in surprise.
What had she seen?
She had seen Albert and Jessie, inches apart, caught in an unexpected moment.
