He chuckled. "Restraint isn't in my vocabulary."

With a grin, he led her back to the bed, where the mattress offered its familiar softness, and their connection felt distinctly different.

They surrendered to passion once more, and when Melissa stirred at nine in the morning, she shielded her eyes from the sunlight, regretting her agreement to indulge him again.

After freshening up and grabbing breakfast, Melissa hurried to the hospital, finding Jessie engrossed in playtime with Jeslyn, seemingly avoiding Albert. Melissa smiled at the sight.

Alexis was also present, her sharp tongue as biting as ever.

“Uncharacteristically tardy, aren't we? Marcus glued to your side again?"

Melissa coughed discreetly, breaking the moment.

Luckily, Alexis opted for playful banter before transitioning into the case discussion. "Mr. Waston, despite the prosecution's charges, we'll require collaboration from our end. I anticipate visiting daily for updates on the matter."

Albert glanced at Alexis. “Are you here for the case or for the spectacle?"

"I multitask," Alexis admitted frankly.

Turning to his capable subordinate, Albert remarked, “I warned you about the Fowlers, but you still went ahead and married one."

In conflicts among higher-ups, it was often the subordinates who bore the brunt. Melissa hence opted for silence.

After a brief conversation with Albert, Alexis prepared to depart, prompting Melissa to accompany her out.

Once they were gone, Albert muttered, "I need to use the bathroom."

Elsie rushed over with concern. "Mr. Waston, allow me to assist you."

Albert's expression soured instantly. Noticing the nearby bedpan, Elsie grasped the situation.

Since Albert couldn't mobilize yet and required the bedpan, her assistance wasn't appropriate. After a moment's thought, she suggested, "Shall I summon a nurse for you?"

Albert blinked and replied, "Nurses can't just come up and handle me."

Understanding his implication, Elsie hesitated before cautiously adding, "It might not be appropriate to ask Miss Green either. Perhaps you should manage on your own."

As luck would have it, a nurse entered to check on Albert, who then helped him with his business; allowing Elsie to step back.
