Chapter: 4020
She lifted her head slightly, controlling her emotions. "Nicely put. It seems you love me deeply. Where was this side of you before?"

Unable to fully express her anger, she couldn't resist slapping him across the face.

Albert didn't evade the slap. Perhaps he felt guilty, or maybe he found her spirited nature appealing. Regardless, after the fourth slap, he caught her hand and murmured, "If you slap me again, I won't tolerate it."

While Jessie was lost in thought, he lifted her and placed her on the back of the sofa.

With tears still in her eyes, he got down on one knee before her and said in a husky voice, "Don't move."

She sensed his intentions and felt her body tremble.

Despite being together for years, he had never done this before.

Either it was too private for him, or his natural arrogance prevented him from doing it for a woman.

Under the crystal lamp, Jessie was engulfed in the happiness he bestowed upon her, tears still glistening in her eyes.

She couldn't help but tremble.

Albert them moved up to kiss her lips, lingering for a while before resting his forehead against hers. "Does that ease your anger?" he asked softly.

Jessie observed her disheveled appearance in the mirror.

She looked away, unwilling to confront her reflection. Albert chuckled and intertwined their fingers, urging her to sign the share transfer agreement. “Once you sign, I'll have Alexis notarize it. Then you'll be the majority shareholder of the Waston Group," he proposed.

As Jessie composed herself, she grew more rational.

While she didn't dismiss the value of money, she couldn't accept what Albert offered.

She couldn't bring herself to accept it, convinced that it wasn't out of love or generosity on his part. Instead, she saw it as a ploy, a means to ensnare her. Bluntly put, he desired both her and his money.

She considered him to be greedy.

Albert didn't pressure her. He glanced at the share transfer agreement and advised, “Take your time to think it over."

Taking Jeslyn's feelings into account, Albert decided not to spend the night in the master bedroom. Instead, he left promptly. As he departed, he simply touched Jessie's shoulder and spoke gently. "Go wash up. You really made a mess down there."

Jessie flushed.
