Chapter: 4030
The couple weren't thrilled about dinner. After eating, they casually talked about the kids' schooling. Alexis headed up to the study, but Leonel stopped her, saying, “Hold up, don't dive into those files. You won't finish. Just take a break tonight."
“I've got court tomorrow," she replied.
Watching her graceful ascent, Leonel reminisced. They'd been together forever, practically grew up together.
Despite having two kids, Alexis maintained her stunning physique—tiny waist, long legs.
She was also hopelessly beautiful.
Leonel had never strayed since tying the knot. Infidelity was never his style.
Post-sex, he felt better physically but still a little hollow in his heart and he yearned for a stroll.
Grabbing the car keys downstairs, he ventured out.
It was a cold summer night.
Cracking the window, he aimlessly wandered for half an hour before his phone buzzed. It was James calling.
“Why aren't you snuggled up with your wife? How do you have the time to ring me instead?" Leonel's gravelly voice sounded smooth.
James, buttering him up for a favor, invited him out. “Come on, Leonel. We've got a private room booked. Even Edwin's here."
Surprised by Edwin's rare outing, Leonel inquired about Marcus.
“Why does Marcus matter?" James snapped.
“People might start to think you married him since you care about him so much. Anyways, he's turned into a homebody. Out of ten times I asked him out, he never showed up once; he's too stuck at home with his girl these days. Forget him."
Leonel grinned, though a hint of bitterness and envy colored his expression.
Arriving at the club ten minutes later, he slipped into the private room.
James had gathered his usual crew, including Edwin.
Surprisingly, Edwin was really there, accompanied by Laura, buried in her phone. Despite her silence, nobody dared tease her, as Edwin always had her back.
Leonel, who, being older than Edwin, couldn't resist a jab.
