Chapter: 4085
How could he have hurt Alexis like this?
While Leonel was still lost in thoughts, Alexis took the photos and burned them.
As the fire raged, the red flames reflected on his face, making him look somehow insidious. His voice was even more depressing when he spoke, "Anika and I... we didn't have sex that night, or any other night."
After he said this, there was silence in the study. It lasted for a long time.
It was when it seemed her hands were going to be burned by the dazzling flames that Alexis calmly replied, “Whether the both of you had sex or not, I'll never forgive you for the rest of my life. I've already filed for divorce. With the evidence that was provided by Miss Cohen, I don't think it would take long for the divorce to be settled, probably six months at most. As for the property situation, it will remain the same, just like I said the other day. Since the kids have lived in this villa their whole life, they will remain here. But if you plan to move in with your new wife, then I'll move out with the kids as soon as possible."
She sounded very calm and unemotional as she made these statements.
Leonel knew Alexis very well. In fact, they had known each other since they were children. He bent down and attempted to touch her hair, but she quickly pushed him away. “Leave me alone!" she shouted in disgust.
Leonel was stunned by her reaction. He had not expected her to react like this.
With a bitter smile on his face, he glanced at his hand which she had just slapped away. Then he said, “For crying out loud, I don't love her! I never had any feelings for her, not to mention falling in love with her."
“Oh, really? You have no feelings for her, huh?!" Alexis sneered mockingly.
"Look, what's the point of saying that now? Don't you think it's a little too late to make such explanations? By now, the whole city knows that Anika is your mistress. You've ruined my reputation and that of my parents. Did you ever think about the consequences when you were having your affair with that woman? My parents treated you as if you were their own child. They even gave you things they never gave Marcus, their real son. Why? Do you think it's because you're smarter or better than Marcus in any way? Of course not. The reason is that they really cared about you, but instead of appreciating that, you chose to follow in your father's footsteps. Did you ever think about Evelyn and Daniel when you and Anika were making out? The answer is NO!"
"Leonel, to be honest, you don't deserve to be a father at all!"
"Marcus was right. You're a very ungrateful man. You thought I couldn't forget about Calvin because I have a crush on him. So, you decided to cheat on me with that woman as an act of revenge against me, but the truth is that Evelyn and I would have died long ago if Calvin had not helped us when we were in Braseovell! Thanks to you, Calvin died in a foreign country all alone. Still, you think I shouldn't even pay tribute to him just once a year on the day he died?!"
Her anger and hurt was clearly expressed in her voice as she spoke.
At the same time, she felt the whole thing was somehow ridiculous.
Leonel slowly went down on his knees, trying to hug her and calm her down.
But Alexis resisted his efforts. She didn't even want to see his face, not to mention allowing him to touch her.
"Leonel, let's get divorced. I don't love you anymore," she told him straightforwardly.
Leonel trembled when he heard this.
But he tried his best to mask it. The fact that it was dark made it even easier. "You need to leave now," Alexis added. She was tired of seeing his face.
