Chapter: 4101
He tried to pull Leonel away, but got shrugged off violently.
James froze in place, not daring to try again.
Leonel buried his face in Alexis' neck, breathing heavily. Finally, he looked up at her and asked, “Why can't I kiss my own wife?"
Alexis, also breathless, had blood on her lips - Leonel's blood, from when she bit him just now.
She shot him a cold look and replied, "You know exactly why, Leonel."
Closing his eyes, Leonel admitted, "It's all my fault! I messed everything up..."
Seeing her chance, Alexis pushed him away and left without a second thought.
James offered to see her off, but she declined. Glancing back at Leonel, James sighed. “Let me give you a ride, man. You're wasted!"
As he reached out to help Leonel up, the latter stood on his own, head bowed. No one could guess what was going through his mind.
After a long silence, he muttered, "I'm good."
James trailed after Leonel, asking, "Are you sure about this? Don't you want a lift home?"
But Leonel stayed silent.
Noreen glanced at James, feeling helpless. "Mr. Douglas has been hitting the bottle a lot lately. It seems like he's given up on himself."
James lit a cigarette, holding it thoughtfully.
“He's headed for a rough road."
As Leonel reached his car outside the club, the driver was waiting.
Just as he was about to hop in, he spotted a figure approaching.
It was Anika again.
Leonel paused. Anika came up to him, pleading sadly, “You're divorcing her. Why not give us one more chance?"
Leonel looked up at the sky, and then back at her.
