Chapter: 4120
Stiffening, she tried to get rid of him.
However, Leonel held her firmly, wrapping his arms around her from behind, pressing his face against her slender back as he whispered, “I'm sorry, Alexis! I'm so sorry!"
Alexis sneered. "Do you find this amusing, Leonel?"
Leonel couldn't resist the temptation to touch her face. He knew he was being despicable, deceiving her into returning.
Despite his deceit, he genuinely missed her and longed to hug her.
He said softly, "You still care about me, Alexis. Otherwise, you wouldn't have picked up this glass. Please give me another chance. I won't disappoint you again. Let's start over, alright?"
"Leonel, you're overthinking it."
Alexis pushed him away in exasperation. Picking up the glass ornament, she turned to confront him, her smile chilling. “If this gives you any illusions, let me clarify: I find you repulsive; your touch fills me with disgust. Every moment spent with you is nothing but endurance."
At that moment, Leonel's breath caught in his throat.
Under his heartbroken gaze, Alexis raised the glass she had crafted herself.
With a gentle release, she let it slip from her hand.
The glass ball shattered into pieces.
Leonel stared blankly as Alexis retreated towards the bedroom door.
When he came to his senses, he bolted downstairs.
In the living room, he caught up with her, seizing her hand and murmuring, "Alexis, please, don't Leave!"
Disentangling her hand, Alexis responded calmly, “Leonel, everything has been addressed, every document signed. Besides our children, there's nothing left between us. I'll bury the past, and you should too!"
She was always straightforward and direct, never one to beat around the bush.
But she had repeatedly compromised her principles for Leonel, leading to the situation they found themselves in today. She refused to listen to him any longer, nor did she harbor any affection for him.
Having witnessed him kissing Anika, she had made the decision to sever all ties with Leonel.
Still, Alexis chose to leave.
