Chapter: 4164
"What? Regretting it now that you've had your pleasure?"
He advanced, pressing her against the wall.
The warmth of the water flowing behind her was in stark contrast to the rigid surface, discomforting her. Alexis lifted her head and stared at him coldly.
Leonel gently covered her eyes with his hand, his tone softening. “I can't stand the way you look at me now."
Alexis finally spoke, her voice firm. "You drugged me. If it weren't for what you did, do you think I'd still have any feelings for you? Just the thought of what happened between you and Anika is enough to sicken me for a lifetime."
Leonel didn't react with anger but rather with amusement. “Despite how repulsive it may seem, you still embraced me and moaned with pleasure, didn't you? Is there anyone else who can make you feel that way? I doubt anyone else can."
Alexis scoffed. "With the influence of the drug I was under, even if it was just some random guy just now, I doubt it would any difference."
Her remarks grated on Leonel's nerves.
He grasped her chin, eager for a kiss. How could she agree?
She forcefully pushed him aside, a sneer evident on her lips. "Leonel, do you honestly believe we'll reconcile?"
He affirmed his belief, stating that it was indeed what he believed.
“We have so many beautiful memories together. Of course, we will remain together. Anika has vanished and will not reappear in our lives. Alexis, I will find a way to cure Evelyn's ear," he promised.
Alexis asked, almost in a daze, “Evelyn's ear can be healed, but what about my heart? Can a shattered heart ever mend? Leonel, tell me, is there hope for a broken heart?"
With those words spoken, she pivoted away, signaling the end of their conversation.
She showered in silence.
Exiting the bathroom, Leonel gently enveloped her in a bath towel, carefully drying her body before assisting her into a bathrobe. “If you're weary, stay upstairs. I'll have the servant bring food to you. I'm going to check on Evelyn."
Alexis remained silent.
She rebuffed his assistance, opting to fasten the bathrobe belt on her own.
Unfazed by her aloofness, Leonel dressed in his lounge wear and exited the room.
Once he left, Alexis leaned against the washbasin, feeling her legs tremble with weakness.
