Chapter: 4174
The child was a product of Leonel's manipulation, leaving Alexis uncertain about her options-keep it or terminate the pregnancy.

At that moment, she harbored intense hatred towards Leonel.

The servant noticed her expression, trembling as she grasped the situation. Alexis realized venting her anger at her wouldn't alter anything. The servant, much like her, was under Leonel's sway. She settled onto the sofa, softly instructing, "You can go. Close the door behind you."

The servant breathed a sigh of relief, briefly considering comforting Alexis, but recognizing her demeanor, she refrained.

The door shut quietly.

Alexis stared at the medicine bottle on the coffee table, lost in contemplation.

After a while, the bedroom door creaked open, admitting a tall figure.

Alexis didn't need to glance up to recognize Leonel's presence; the servant must have informed him. She raised her gaze, speaking mockingly. “Here to check the results? Should I offer my congratulations?"

Leonel approached her, his steps deliberate, then crouched beside her.

His fingers traced her belly softly as he murmured, “We're expecting again, aren't we?"

Alexis gazed down at him.

She observed his slightly trembling hands on her belly, radiating paternal delight. Yet, Alexis felt only irony. Her voice was hoarse and strained. "Not happening. I won't carry this child."

Leonel lifted his head, insisting, "You're carrying this child! It's a life."

Before he could finish, Alexis' palm connected with his cheek in a resounding slap.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Alexis' voice cracked. "How dare you, Leonel?! Is this how you value life? Our relationship ended long ago. Do you think having a child together will turn back time? Tell me, how can we go back? Do you want to drug me every time you crave intimacy? Do you not see the tragedy of bringing another child into this dysfunctional family?"

Suddenly, Leonel grasped the back of her head.

His usually handsome face mirrored her despair. He offered a gentle smile. “Compared to that, losing you seems far worse, Alexis... Let's start anew. I won't mind if you still miss Calvin, or even visit him weekly, as long as you're with me."

Alexis pushed him away. "You're out of your mind!"

Leonel retreated, his expression unreadable. They both understood the impossibility of Alexis undergoing an abortion. She was resigned to carrying this child to term...

After that day, Alexis shut Leonel out completely.
