Chapter: 4218
As the father, Leonel owed the little boy something. Making those dumplings should be his job!
The butler wasted no time, dialing Leonel's number.
It was way past bedtime, nearing ten.
Daniel, waiting for dumplings, dozed off, out like a light.
Meanwhile, Alexis kept vigil by his side.
Pregnancy had her worn out and she nodded off.
Her brown locks cascading over her shoulders were a sight to behold.
When Leonel pushed the door open, he was spellbound.
They'd grown up together and been a couple once; Alexis' face was etched in his memory.
Yet seeing her now, he was still awestruck.
He watched her, reluctant to disturb her slumber.
Just then, Daniel stirred, eyeing Leonel groggily. He thought it was a dream, shaking his head. Then, softly, he called out, "Dad?"
Leonel's heart softened.
He walked over with a container of food and gently touched Daniel's head. At that moment, Daniel, slightly more alert now, realized it wasn't a dream and therefore felt a bit awkward.
Leonel sat down beside him and glanced at Alexis. As he turned his head, he caught Daniel's gaze and felt a hint of embarrassment.
“Don't you want some dumplings? Can you sit up and eat on your own?" he asked.
Daniel nodded in response.
Leonel's voice grew hoarse as he said, "I'll take your mom to the next room. She shouldn't sleep here like this."
"Be gentle. Mommy's pregnant." Daniel couldn't help but interject softly.
Leonel, his eyes red and puffy, felt a tightness in his throat but kept his composure in front of his son. “I know," he murmured quietly.
