Chapter: 4228
Albert smiled gently. "She's used to her own company. Just meeting a few times during the holidays is enough."
Jessie nodded in understanding.
She had grown quite familiar with Helen, Albert's mother, who frequented their home lately. Jessie always sensed a depth to Helen, but she respected her privacy as Albert's mother.
Noticing Jessie's reflective pause, Albert tapped her head playfully.
“Eat up!"
Jessie resumed eating, her demeanor obedient yet comfortable.
Lettie, though focused on Jeslyn, couldn't help but observe Albert and Jessie's interactions. She now understood the deep connection between them.
They truly were a perfect match!
As their wedding day approached on February 14th, Jessie felt a sudden tightness in her chest and nausea while preparing.
Olivia, her bridesmaid, quickly noticed. “Jessie, are you feeling unwell?" she asked with concern.
Jessie clutched her chest, suspecting the reason for her discomfort.
She realized that her recent closeness with Albert could mean she was expecting, especially since they hadn't taken precautions.
Quietly, she did the math and suspected she might be pregnant.
Olivia, still quite inexperienced with such matters, reached for her phone intending to call Albert.
Jessie quickly intervened, whispering, “I'm fine!"
Olivia looked at her with a mixture of concern and skepticism. “Are you really okay?" she asked.
Jessie reassured her with a calm smile, "I'm really fine. It's just a little discomfort."
Relieved by Jessie's assurance, Olivia let the matter go.
She helped Jessie adjust her veil and carefully escorted her to the hotel entrance, where an elder of the Green family was waiting to guide Jessie down the aisle.
The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated with irises, setting a romantic scene.
