Chapter: 4247
The servant exhaled in relief.
Taking the bowl from Alexis, she smiled and said, "There's one more bowl. You can have it later. Mr. Fowler mentioned you should only have up to two bowls since it's best not to consume too much cold food."
"Okay," Alexis responded.
Pleased with Alexis’ appetite, the servant exited briskly. As she reached for the doorknob, Alexis' voice stopped her. "I would Like some chicken with mushrooms for dinner."
Turning around with a smile, the servant replied, "Certainly, I'll have the cook prepare it immediately."
Alexis felt uncomfortable under the watchful eyes and pretended to focus on the book she held, which the servant noticed was upside down. “Miss Fowler, your book is upside down," she pointed out.
Alexis’ cheeks turned pink. Clearing her throat, she explained, “I'm holding it like this for the baby to read."
After the servant headed downstairs, Waylen set aside his magazine.
“Has she eaten?" he inquired. Rena, too, was concerned about Alexis.
Evelyn and Daniel also Listened intently.
The servant quickly responded, "Yes, she enjoyed it"
She paused, and then added, “She might guess who prepared it, but she didn't say anything. She also requested chicken with mushrooms for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Fowler, I'll be in the kitchen."
Waylen smiled. "Finally, she's eating. It's all thanks to—"
He suddenly cut himself off, realizing something significant.
Rena understood what he was about to say and, with a sigh, turned to check on Evelyn and Daniel.
As Daniel ascended the stairs, he couldn't resist glancing outside the villa.
A black off-road vehicle sat just beyond the gates.
Leonel leaned against it, the night breeze lifting the corner of his shirt and tousling his hair. He remained there until his phone interrupted the silence.
It was a servant from the Fowler residence, his voice tinged with nervousness. "Mr. Douglas, Miss Fowler has started eating, and her appetite seems improved. Don't worry."
He ended the call abruptly, anxious that someone might overhear.
