Chapter: 4315
Tears brimmed in Alexis’ eyes.
She pushed down her emotions, whispering, “Leonel, I'm relieved you're okay."
Silence lingered for a moment before a soft chuckle broke through.
In a voice tinged with both hoarseness and composure, Leonel proposed, "Alexis, it's time we both begin anew! I've come to realize that it's not worth it for us to continue like this. Let's treat each other like family and raise our children together in the future."
Alexis felt a lump form in her throat.
After a long pause, she said, "Okay."
Meanwhile, Leonel gazed silently at his left leg, swathed in white bandages. Despite a week passing, it remained immobile. Restricted to a wheelchair, he contemplated his situation.
As Alexis held the phone, her fingers tightened slightly.
In a hushed tone, he urged, “Alexis, find someone new. You have much life ahead."
Alexis remained silent.
Whether Alexis found a new partner was irrelevant to Leonel. Her priority was locating him. Was he truly as fine as he claimed, discussing business overseas?
Silently ending the call, she instructed her assistant to trace the whereabouts of the car that night, driven by Leonel. After a thorough search, the assistant informed her, "The vehicle is at Mr. Douglas' villa."
"Miss Fowler, you..."
After ending the call, she proceeded to get dressed with the intention of seeing the car.
No member of the Fowler family could stop her.
In the dead of night, Alexis drove to the villa they once called home. After roughly thirty minutes, her car glided into the villa's grounds.
Bathed in the moonlight, the black vehicle was parked there on the driveway.
Alexis hurried out of her car and made her way towards the vehicle.
She recognized the luxurious black limousine instantly.
Under the moonlight, it sat silently parked, bearing a few scratches on its front and surface. The front license plate appeared meticulously cleaned.
