Chapter: 4337
He kept holding Cordelia close.
Before long, Cordelia wanted to roam around. She wriggled in her cute dress, giving Leonel an innocent look.
Daniel calmly remarked, "It looks like she's itching to walk."
Leonel froze.
Even though he knew a nine-month-old could be guided to take a few steps, his legs couldn't handle it...
He wanted to explain to his son but got choked up and was unable to find the words.
In that moment, Leonel felt completely lost.
He realized that if he wanted to be there for his kids as they grew, he had to come clean about his mobility issues, especially to Alexis, admitting he felt useless for not being able to walk properly again.
Seeing him still, Daniel asked, “Are your legs still bothering you? Mom says you need to cut back on drinking."
Leonel felt a tug at his heart.
After a moment, he murmured, “Should I listen to your mom?"
Daniel didn't reply and just took Cordelia from Leonel's arms and helped her take a few steps.
Even though it was just a small move, Cordelia was ecstatic.
Daniel remarked, "You never take care of yourself. That's why your legs are always hurting and why you can't even hold my sister properly."
Leonel's heart sank. After a pause, he asked, "If my legs never get better, and they hurt forever, would you still want to call me Dad?"
Daniel suddenly turned and looked up at him.
After all, Daniel was too young to hide anything. So he asked directly, "Does this mean you'll always be like this?"
Leonel looked at the little boy thoughtfully.
In fact, he spoke to Daniel as if he were an adult, saying, "Maybe."
Even though Daniel was younger than Evelyn, he was more mature than his sister.
