Chapter: 4366
But she didn't seem to notice.

Leonel quickly approached and grabbed her wrist. He saw the cut on her palm and asked, “What happened? Where's your... where's your boyfriend?"

Before she could answer, Leonel tried to lift her up, but his legs couldn't manage to support her weight. He wasn't even strong enough to pick up a baby anymore. He sighed and said gently, “Come on, let's get you to a hospital."

Alexis couldn't take her eyes off him.

Tears started to fill her eyes.

Leonel had no idea what she'd been through. He held her wrist firmly and led her to the car. Even though he struggled to walk, he kept going, determined to get her to safety.

Alexis was gently guided into the back seat and Leonel followed her inside.

Noreen, sensing the tension, took the front passenger seat and instructed the driver, "Head to the closest hospital."

The driver didn't waste any time and hit the gas.

The car was dimly lit. Alexis and Leonel sat next to each other. It had been ages since they'd been this close.

Leonel spoke softly. "Don't you have any hemostatic stuff in your bag?"

Alexis shot back, "Where's your girlfriend? Shouldn't she be with you?"

Leonel's voice dropped even lower. “You should worry about yourself, not me."

He quickly rummaged through her bag and found the hemostatic medicine.

Noreen handed him a bottle of water without a word. Leonel unscrewed the cap and handed it to Alexis. “Take the pill," he said firmly.

Alexis didn't budge.

Leonel, unsure what was going on, fed her the medicine himself. His warm hand brushed against her lips, and both of them flinched at the touch.

In the dark car, they locked eyes, their expressions complicated.

Leonel cleared his throat and said in a raspy voice, "You're a grown-up now. You can't keep acting this careless. From now on..."

He couldn't go on.
