Chapter: 4422
She was very close to Cecilia.
What was most surprising was that she had once been a confidante to Mark before he ended up with Cecilia.
Smiling, Alexis patted Olivia's hand reassuringly, "Miss Holt is a close friend of your mother. She's known for her strong personality and can be tough to interview, but she might make an exception for you. Doing this interview could really boost your standing among your colleagues."
Olivia took a bite of her sandwich and remarked nonchalantly, "Actually, I don't have much ambition."
Alexis nodded in agreement.
Being Mark's precious daughter, Olivia had been afforded every privilege from a young age. Not only did she already possess personal assets worth billions, but there was also the substantial inheritance she would receive in the future.
Just as Alexis was about to respond, Olivia's tone shifted. "But it would be nice to see Miss Holt, since Mom always speaks fondly of her."
Patting her head, Alexis offered, "I'll drive you there later."
Olivia declined, "No need. I drove here myself yesterday."
Alexis didn't press further. She set down her glass and stood up to leave for the law firm. Noticing Alexis had eaten less than usual, the loyal servant couldn't help but comment, “Does the breakfast not suit your taste? You've eaten only half of what you normally do."
Alexis paused for a moment.
Then, slipping on her coat and heading to change her shoes, she replied with a smile, “It's delicious! But I have a brunch meeting later. I'm worried I'll be too full if I finish my breakfast now."
The servant laughed, "Miss Fowler, you're so caught up in business. Breakfast meetings, lunch meetings, dinner meetings and now even brunch meetings—-they all sound fancy but aren't very nutritious! You should eat well at home, otherwise, how will you have the energy to handle your day?"
Cradling the older woman, Alexis kissed her and responded, “Okay, I'll eat more tomorrow morning. Today, it's just too late!"
The servant blushed at the exchange.
Alexis then walked out to her car. Before starting it, she thought about the large apple she had eaten earlier, which had indeed curbed her appetite for breakfast.
Back at the dining room, Olivia, still supportive, fork in hand, watched Alexis drive away and murmured to herself, "Alexis looks so driven today!"
The servant, puzzled by Olivia's reaction, speculated, "Then, does she have someone she Likes at the meeting?"
Looking back at her, Olivia whispered with a hint of caution, “It's hard to guard against someone close!"
With that, she quickly wiped her mouth and hurried off.
