Chapter: 4441
But Alexis grabbed him and held him tightly. "I can try to forget," she whispered. "Let's give it another try."
Leonel stared at her for some time.
Then he gently extricated himself from her embrace and got up. But he didn't leave the bed. Instead, he sat on the edge of the bed, grabbed his trousers, and put them on. Then he lit a cigarette and began to smoke.
Alexis sat up on the bed and hugged him from behind.
After Leonel had finished smoking, he turned around and kissed her gently.
But just then, one of the domestic staff knocked on the door and announced that Lunch was ready. This automatically brought a halt to their romance.
They quickly changed clothes and woke Daniel up so they could all have lunch together. Later that night, Leonel didn't leave. Instead, he slept in Daniel's room. Evelyn and Cordelia were also brought back that night.
Before it was bed time, Evelyn ran into the master bedroom.
Cordelia was seated on the carpet, engrossed in playing with her toys.
As for Alexis, she had just finished bathing and was applying body lotion.
“Is Daddy not going to leave anymore?" Evelyn asked curiously in a low voice.
Even though she knew that Leonel had decided to stay the night, Alexis really couldn't figure out his true intentions. She felt that if he was genuinely interested in restarting their life together, he would have shared her bed since he was someone who was usually driven by desire. Right now, she was very much unsure about what he was thinking.
Putting down her body lotion, Alexis touched Evelyn's face and said in reply, "You can go ask Daddy by yourself."
"I asked, but he wouldn't say. He told me to ask you," Evelyn said.
The poor little girl was completely oblivious of what Leonel really meant, but Alexis certainly did understand. It was now clear to her that Leonel wouldn't leave, not this time.
As a result, she couldn't help but feel somewhat emotional. It took her a moment before she could control her emotions well enough to respond to Evelyn. “Well, you can be at ease then," she said with a shrug, feigning carelessness. "You'll be able to see Daddy every morning from now on."
Evelyn was stunned for a moment. Then she threw her arms around Alexis and hugged her tightly.
"Mommy," she murmured, pressing her face against her mother's neck.
Initially, Alexis wanted to talk to her about what happened at school, but she changed her mind.
Evelyn was in a good mood right now. It was not a good idea to ruin this.
