Chapter: 4474
Earlier, Raphael had suffered an unfortunate coffee mishap at the business meeting, prompting a swift wardrobe change. However, the circumstances surrounding the clothes' custody were peculiar.
Even more so, Raphael's demeanor was tense, with a noticeable patch of redness on his neck, resembling a hickey.
Olivia watched the scene unfold with interest, trying to understand what was going on. She and Raphael had ended their relationship years ago, but his recent appearances with Sharon, accompanied by claims of engagement, left her confused. Now, why was he questioning her in a tone that sounded almost accusatory, and in front of his fiancee no less?
Olivia broke the silence, her voice calm and composed. “Isn't it natural for people to get married when the time's right?"
A flicker of sadness crossed Raphael's eyes.
He locked gazes with Olivia.
Sharon, beside him, sensed he was losing control and gently reminded him, “Hey.”
Raphael continued to stare at Olivia, his silence stretching into an uncomfortable pause. Then, he suddenly burst into laughter, his tone tinged with sarcasm. "You're right, Olivia! Marriage is the next step, right? And who's the lucky one, huh? That Dylan guy?"
Dylan? Cecilia remembered that the man he mentioned was the one who had once harbored feelings for Laura... Later, he became close friends with Olivia, but now they were just good friends, far from anything romantic. Although she thought Dylan was a kind and suitable partner for anyone.
Besides, Cecilia might have been naive, but she wasn't foolish.
The young man in front of her seemed charming and refined... but his eyes were too dark, hinting at a troubled past. And the way he gazed at Olivia was unsettling, like he wanted to consume her!
He... he must be the one who had dated Olivia before.
And in the end, both he and Olivia had been deeply hurt in that relationship.
Even though the dude had a girlfriend now, he still showed up to stir things up with Olivia. Obviously, Cecilia had to have her daughter's back. So, she flashed a smile and chirped, "So, you must be Mr. Jones! I've heard Edwin talk about you a lot. It's nice to finally meet you! Oh, is this Mrs. Jones? You guys look cute together."
Cecilia's mix-up put Raphael in a tight spot, making it tough for him to clear things up, let alone deal with Olivia.
Sharon, standing by, had no interest in clearing things up either.
Cecilia flashed a grin and suggested, "Hey, since you guys are seasoned in marriage, why not give us some pointers? What are the must-haves for a dowry? Olivia and I picked out a dozen, but I'm not sure if we should keep them all or just single out some of them. Tough call, huh?"
Sharon eyed the brand.
The gold brand they picked out was extremely pricey.
Buying even just some of those items Cecilia picked out would set one back at least a million. Sharon couldn't wrap her head around Olivia's family being that wealthy. So, she casually pointed to a few pricey pieces, saying, "These seem alright."
