Chapter: 4480
Sensing her thoughts, Raphael gave a faint smile. "I guess that's it."

"Raphael." Olivia suddenly called his name.

She met his eyes directly, without yielding. She whispered, “You came here to point out my cowardice back then, didn't you? Then, let me ask you something. Did you have the courage? Would you dare to abandon everything and defy your mother's wishes to be with me? Could you afford to face the critics from the Jones family and accept being called ungrateful, just to be with me? If so, then you can criticize me all you want; otherwise, you have no right."

As she spoke, memories of the past and the pain she felt then flooded back.

She was young and naive at that time.

She had paid the price.

They stood facing each other in the wind. After a long silence, he softly asked, “Why did you sleep with me before you broke up?"

The mood was tense.

The cold wind tousled her hair, covering half of her face.

Her vision blurred.

She lowered her gaze to conceal the tears forming and whispered, "Maybe I just couldn't accept it. After all, I had chased you for so long. Raphael, you were so distant back then."

She smiled ruefully, but he just watched her and eventually decided to walk away.

The door of the black Land Rover slammed shut.

Then he drove off.

Probably because he drove too fast, the car's tires rubbed against the ground and made a piercing sound. He saw Olivia in the rearview mirror. He saw her figure slowly diminish and left far away.

It was reminiscent of the time she had gotten into Dylan's car and left him behind.

It seemed that what came around really went around.

Raphael thought he should feel relieved to leave Mark's beloved daughter behind at the gates of his own house. He should be relieved, shouldn't he? But then why were his hands shaking as he gripped the steering wheel?

With trembling hands, he reached for his cigarette pack, but it was empty.

Suddenly, the car horn blared.
