Chapter: 4503
He didn't push her. He put the glass back and tenderly stroked her face.
His fingers were as soft as a feather.
Then he leaned forward and rested his forehead against hers. With a soft sigh, he said, "If you don't give it a try, how will you know the Lengths I'm willing to go to for you? Olivia, you're a child yourself."
If they really didn't have any child, he had no problem just spoiling her.
They were quite compatible. They could travel and see the whole world together.
If she needed to be healed, then he was willing to spend the rest of his life with her, to love her, to make her forget the pain that man had put her through.
Dylan was such a good man but Olivia almost didn't have the nerve to accept him.
She was well acquainted with the bitterness of love. She didn't want to hurt a person who treated her so well. She wanted to turn him down. But Dylan didn't let her get the words out. He gently touched her red lips with his slender finger.
It was an intimate gesture.
They had known each other for several years and had only shared a friendship. Today was the first time they had been so close.
This dynamic was alien to Olivia. She shifted her body and uttered his name. She wanted to bring him back to his senses.
Dylan was more forward than usual.
He grabbed her wrists and pinned them to the sides of her body. He gazed at her with his intense eyes and said in a hoarse voice, “I gave you time. You two didn't get back together. Instead, he hurt you and made you cry. Olivia, give us a shot. I'll be a hundred times better than him. I won't make you cry or suffer through pain alone. I will always be there for you and keep you by my side."
Olivia's lips quivered slightly.
Her thoughts wavered a little. She read that when a person was hurt, they would instinctively seek comfort. Dylan was the best person there to comfort her, but she couldn't allow herself to take advantage of his kindness.
"Try to be with me."
Dylan's one hand rested on the back of her neck. He held her carefully, like she was a treasure, and did nothing. He just held her close.
His embrace felt as warm as the sun.
Olivia's heart had been encased in ice for eight years. She also yearned for warmth and sunshine.
She slowly rested her face on Dylan's shoulder. At this moment, she wanted to burst into tears. She gently wrapped her arms around Dylan's neck and said between sobs, "Okay, let's give it a shot."
