Chapter: 4524
Was he hoping to witness their misery?
Sadly, they seemed happy together.
Raphael retreated, chuckling at his own folly, before disappearing into the night.
Dylan led Olivia across the street to a 24-hour pharmacy, their steps heavy with anticipation. Weakness tinged Olivia's legs as they ascended the stairs upon returning home.
Inside, Dylan handed her a disposable cup, urging, "Test it first."
Looking into his eyes, Olivia found reassurance in his touch. “Even if you're pregnant, I'll be there," he promised, his Love unwavering.
Tears threatened, but Dylan's words soothed her fears. "It's not your fault. Whatever happens," he assured her.
After a moment, Olivia mustered a smile, her fingers curling into his.
“Dylan, I'm not afraid."
With him by her side, fear had no place. They had chosen each other, and as long as Dylan held on, so would she.
Two red lines on the pregnancy test held Olivia's gaze for a long time.
She unwrapped a second test and confirmed the result— still two red lines.
She was indeed pregnant, carrying Raphael's child.
Overcome with exhaustion, she collapsed onto the toilet seat. Despite her readiness for this outcome, the reality still struck her with overwhelming force.
The door to the bathroom swung open quietly. Dylan appeared in the doorway.
At the sound of the door, Olivia lifted her gaze to meet his. He watched her silently for a few seconds before stepping forward, cradling her head, and pulling her into an embrace.
“Dylan,” Olivia murmured, her voice shaky.
"Yes," Dylan responded. He paused, his voice low. “We might not make it to autumn for the wedding. How about June?"
He spoke with a gentle calmness, his demeanor no different than usual.
To Olivia, it felt as though she had stirred up a minor trouble, and Dylan was there to tidy it up.
She looked up at him once more.
He wrapped his arms around her, bending down to hug her in silence.
After a long while, he finally spoke again. "Tomorrow morning, we'll go to the hospital for a check-up and tell your family that the child is mine."
Olivia was filled with worry.
