Chapter: 4566
Raphael sincerely apologized to Mark and the conversation came to an end.
After hanging up, Raphael fixed his gaze on Kiley and said with a helpless sigh, "Mom, haven't I told you that that child is not mine? Why didn't you believe me and why did you even go spread such a ridiculous rumor?"
Frankly, Kiley felt a lot of guilt. After a moment of silence, she murmured, "I'm doing it for your own good, son. You've been visiting Olivia frequently these days, but she's still so stubborn. Maybe she would change her mind after this slight push."
As a matter of fact, Kiley had made up her mind even before carrying out the plan.
But Raphael had no idea what was on her mind.
With a bitter smile on his face, he said to her, “Come on, Mom, don't be ridiculous. There is no hope for Olivia and I coming together or anything like that. So you need to stop thinking about it."
Kiley hesitated for a moment before responding.
Even though some words were not pleasant to hear, they were still the truth nonetheless. So she decided to just speak her mind.
"I know that child is yours. Since Dylan is dead, it's very likely that... you and Olivia can get back together. Why are you so resistant to this idea, Ray?"
Raphael didn't say anything. He just sat there in silence.
Kiley mistook his silence for surrender, thinking he had wavered, so she added, “Don't worry. As long as you two can patch things up, I won't be against it anymore."
But little did she know that Raphael wasn't taking her words seriously at all.
He was just busy with his work and didn't care what Kiley was saying.
About five minutes Later, Kiley finally Left the company.
But instead of going back home, she went to a small park nearby.
After sitting on the park bench for a long time, she pulled out a test result from her bag.
She had been diagnosed with a terminal case of liver cancer. The doctor had told her that there was not much time left for her to live.
She stared at the result quietly as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Frankly, she almost felt she deserved it. After all, if not for what she did back then, Raphael and Olivia might have had a few kids by now to carry on the Jones family name.
With trembling hands, Kiley tore the result into pieces.
She didn't want Raphael to find out about it, nor did she intend to get any form of treatment.
Her plan was to end her own life. That would be the last thing she could do for Raphael.
Soon, it was dusk. The sun looked really fantastic today.
Wearing black clothes, Kiley walked blankly across the road. She was not as brave as she had thought. She was really very scared of dying.
