Chapter: 4594
The fact that Dylan was with someone else and his declaration that she should choose between him and Raphael fueled her resentment.
As the last ray of sunlight vanished, Olivia glanced around the room for one last time, preparing to leave. With a heavy heart, she closed the door behind her, tears welling up in her eyes. Left behind was not only the apartment but also the shattered remnants of her marriage to Dylan.
She was picked up by the driver.
In the back seat, Olivia sat quietly, her expression somber.
When the black limousine pulled away, she saw Dylan.
Seated in a white vehicle, Dylan's hands rested gracefully on the wheel, with Gina by his side and his dog in the rear.
Her black limo passed Dylan's car.
Olivia averted her gaze to avoid meeting his eyes.
However, tears streamed down her cheeks the moment she looked away from Dylan.
At the same time, Gina asked in a hushed tone, "Is she gone for good? Will she come back again?"
Without uttering a word, Dylan retrieved a pack of cigarettes from the glove box with quiet deliberation. However, his hands trembled too violently to light up a cigarette. With a change of heart, he abandoned the attempt and got out of the car.
Gina contemplated following suit, but before she could act, Dylan turned around and spoke in a stern voice. “Stay in the car!"
He didn't want Gina to enter the place. The apartment held memories of Olivia, and he wasn't willing to let anyone else intrude upon them.
Five minutes later, Dylan emerged from the elevator.
The doorway appeared just as he remembered.
True to habit, the spare key lay hidden beneath the doormat, a precaution for Olivia's forgetfulness. He had ensured a spare key was available for her use in case she misplaced the original.
Using the spare key, Dylan unlocked the door.
Upon entering, his eyes immediately fell upon the wooden rocking horse. It had taken him an entire week to craft it and another night to meticulously paint the entire piece.
But now it sat there quietly, abandoned by its owner.
Taking a seat on the sofa, Dylan surveyed the unchanged surroundings.
Although Olivia had taken away all her things as well as Leyla's, he could still smell their scents.
Looking at the wooden rocking horse, Dylan recalled the bittersweet moment when Leyla had called him Daddy.
It had been a dream come true for him.
But now he had no option but to relinquish that dream.
