Chapter: 4611
When they returned to the yard, a maid approached and said, "Mr. Wright... He prepared a meal for the children. They all really enjoyed it!"
Olivia glanced at the dining table where the children were gathered excitedly...
She certainly didn't want to be a buzzkill.
So she handed Leyla over to the maid and said, "Make sure she avoids any raw or undercooked food."
The maid took Leyla with a smile and responded cheerfully.
Olivia offered a weak smile and held back any further comments.
Outside, the atmosphere was bustling, but she didn't feel like joining in. Wrapping her shawl tighter, Olivia made her way to the backyard... She suspected that Dylan might want to discuss something important with her.
It was inevitable that they would need to address their issues eventually!
As she expected, after wandering in the backyard for a bit, she heard Dylan's voice.
She turned around to meet his eyes.
Under the dim moonlight, there was Dylan, noticeably thinner, which softened his facial features.
Rather than approaching him, Olivia remained where she was, silent.
After a moment of silence, they began walking side by side, resembling a couple enjoying a casual walk after dinner.
Yet, they both knew it was just an illusion.
At that moment, they were more like strangers.
Gazing at the distant scenery, Olivia said softly, "Dylan, you married me because you thought I needed the sense of security that Raphael failed to provide. But now... As you can see, I can manage on my own and take care of Leyla, even without you around."
Dylan, taken aback, just stared at her in disbelief.
“As I've said before, our issues were never about Raphael but about something deeper," Olivia said, managing a small smile.
She felt abandoned by Dylan when he forced her to choose!
Anyone with self-respect would move on and leave the past behind after what happened to her.
Dylan was silent, staring intensely at her without blinking.
After a long pause, he admitted awkwardly, “Olivia, can I take back what I said?"
Olivia responded with a soft smile, "You have regrets now? Is it because Raphael got engaged? Do you think that Leyla and I will come desperately crawling back to you for mercy because no one wants us now? Save your sympathy for someone else, Dylan. Love isn't a charity nor something to just make do with."
That part of her life was behind her now.
