Chapter: 4703
Dylan's outburst was sharp. “Leave! Can't you see how much I despise you? Are you satisfied now? I've lost everything-my wife, my child-all because of your misguided affection!"
Gina's eyes and nose were red from crying, but she spoke softly after a moment of silence. "If you don't want me around, you should say so from the beginning."
Dylan paled at her words, struck by their truth.
He had allowed Gina to get close to him despite knowing her feelings for him. Despite his promises to Olivia, he had continually let her down.
He realized then that he was the one responsible for the loss of their child- the true culprit.
Taking a few steps back, Dylan managed a bitter smile. "Please, I beg you. Stay away from me. I don't like you at all, not one bit. If you come near me again, I'll involve the authorities."
Gina's lips trembled, and after a moment, she turned and fled, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Dylan was standing under a streetlight on the side of the road as he watched Gina's retreating figure.
He felt so much like a pathetic and ridiculous man.
Just because of a young girl's love for him, he had ended up losing his wife and child.
Was Olivia hurt during the abortion? Did she cry her eyes out in her bed every night? Would Leyla wake up in the middle of the night, crying and looking for him?
Even though Dylan was drunk, the thought of all these still felt painful.
Even though he was on the side of the road, he squatted down.
Looking blankly at the top floor of the apartment building, he found that the lights were out, and it was quite dark up there. He hadn't gone back home for several days now. Even if he went back, he wouldn't dare to turn on the lights. The empty apartment only increased his feeling of loneliness.
The next morning, at dawn, Dylan woke up on one of the park benches.
He got up and walked home quietly. On the way, he felt the urge to smoke, but to his dismay, he found that the cigarette pack was empty.
So he crumpled it into a ball and threw it away. Then he slowly made his way into his apartment.
One of his first tasks was to freshen up. But while he was shaving his beard, he looked at himself in the mirror and saw how haggard he was.
Even he did not like the way he looked at all, so how would Olivia accept him?
After shaving, he showered, changed into a set of clean and tidy clothes and went to work.
Whenever he wanted to see Olivia, he would go over to her mansion and wait at the gate. But still, he never got the chance to see much of her.
In April, a piece of news filtered in from abroad.
Gina had gotten married to a rich playboy who had dated many female stars. At first, Gina had refused to marry him, but her father tied her up and forcefully took her to the wedding.
The night before the wedding, she had called Dylan, but he never picked her call.
