Chapter: 4710
It was time for the annual Charity Night in Duefron. Given Edwin's prominent status, he was expected to lead by example. Laura wasn't fond of such events, so Cecilia represented her each year.
This year, Cecilia brought Olivia along.
Cecilia hoped to distract Olivia from her grief.
May in Duefron was marked by relentless rain. As Cecilia and Olivia exited the airport, they saw Dylan.
He was dressed in a white T-shirt and sunglasses.
His tall stature was unmistakable.
Cecilia had to admit, despite everything, he was indeed strikingly handsome.
Her gaze towards Olivia was filled with mixed feelings.
Olivia saw him too, but as usual, she ignored him.
Softly, she said to her mother, “Let's head to the car!"
Cecilia sighed and assisted her into the vehicle.
Though Olivia's pregnancy was more visible, she moved with ease. It appeared that the pregnancy wasn't causing her much discomfort. Dylan watched them silently. He didn't intrude, merely offering Cecilia a simple nod, unable to speak.
Cecilia put on her sunglasses before entering the car.
“The rain is pouring down today! And the thunder is roaring so loudly. I just hope it strikes down some jerk out there!"
Dylan remained still at the comment.
Maria, standing behind him, couldn't suppress a chuckle.
Realizing she needed to maintain professionalism, she quickly stifled her laughter.
Dylan gave her a quick look.
Inside the car, Cecilia removed her sunglasses and asked softly, "Do you truly not want to forgive him?"
Olivia stared out the window.
With a bitter smile, she replied, “It's not about forgiveness. I just realize I can manage without him. Gina was head over heels for him once, but now she's happily married to someone else!"
She confessed that she was heartbroken at first.
In her midnight dreams, she often revisited what Dylan had said that night.
She also dreamt that he stayed overseas and never returned, yet in her dreams, he was still her husband.
