Chapter: 4725
Dylan got up and offered his chair to Cecilia. Meanwhile, after a night of concern for Olivia, Cecilia appeared visibly worried... She was filled with remorse and guilt. If they hadn't gone back to Duefron, perhaps Olivia wouldn't have endured so much hardship.

She leaned over and softly touched Olivia's face, whispering, "I haven't had the heart to tell her father about the accident. I'm afraid the shock might be too much for him! Olivia has always been Mark's precious gem. He even built a pink tent for her right beside his desk when she was little, so she could play in his study while he worked. He'd be devastated to learn of her accident."

Then she looked up and earnestly thanked Dylan.

“Thank you for saving my daughter, Dylan!"

Dylan's voice was rough as he responded, "I'd do anything for Olivia! So you don't need to thank me."

Cecilia gave a weak smile and remained silent.

Although Dylan hesitated to leave, he was aware that Olivia hadn't yet forgiven him, nor was she ready to accept him... As a sensible person, he knew stepping back was best for both. In a raspy tone, he said, "Now that you're here, I'll go. I'll return to visit her later."

Worried that his presence might make Olivia uncomfortable, he just left.

After the door shut, Dylan didn't walk away right away. Instead, he paused outside, deep in thought. He regretted the harsh words he had spoken to Olivia... How could he have been so heartless?

If he hadn't acted like an asshole at that time, he might still be by her side now.

And she wouldn't be feeling so conflicted.

Back in the room, after Dylan's departure, Cecilia exhaled softly.

As a mother, her hope was for her children to be content. Edwin was quite happy in his marriage, but Olivia's romantic life had been rocky. Cecilia sometimes even feared... that Olivia might end up alone when Mark was gone.

Knowing what was on her mind, Edwin came over, wrapped his arms around Cecilia, and murmured, "Mom, I'm sure Olivia will find someone great eventually. Plus... she always has me, doesn't she? I promise to look after Olivia and treat her children as my own."

Cecilia felt a wave of relief at his reassurance.

It was nearly noon when Olivia finally woke up.

She opened her eyes. The sunlight streamed through the windows.

Cecilia had placed some fresh flowers in vases... So, as Olivia woke up, the scent of flowers filled the air.

Her mood seemed to be cheered up at some point.

She also noticed that Dylan was gone.

As Olivia came to, Cecilia softly touched her forehead and whispered, “He left after we got here this morning! I think he didn't want to make you uncomfortable."

Olivia remained silent, her face against the pillow.

Cecilia continued, “Are you feeling hungry? Why don't you get up and eat something? The cook prepared these dishes earlier. We've already shared some with Ryder. His wife was really appreciative and mentioned she'd cook something for you later."

"That's very thoughtful of her. Really, she shouldn't have!" Olivia responded with a gentle smile.
