Chapter: 4774
A live-in maid?

The idea initially sparked concerns about the costs and the cramped space in their apartment, given the nursery was set aside for their expected baby.

After a brief reflection, she gently refused, "I think I can manage by myself for now. Let's revisit the idea as the due date draws closer."

Raphael respected her wishes and didn't press the issue.

Before he left for work, Raphael lovingly caressed Elissa's belly and bent down to listen closely.

Elissa smiled warmly, her fingers brushing the soft prickles on the nape of his neatly trimmed neck.

Raphael then tenderly kissed her belly through the fabric of her dress.

A blush tinted her cheeks a soft pink, enhancing her natural beauty.

With a hint of embarrassment, she gently nudged, "Shouldn't you be on your way?"

Raphael's Laughter filled the room as he stood, slipped on his shoes, and walked towards the door.

He paused to kiss her once more, his mood lifted visibly. Elissa sensed his happiness, intuiting that it stemmed from having her and their future child by his side.

She bid him farewell, but then called out with a playful tone, “Actually, I've been thinking-naming the baby Jarvis sounds quite nice."

Raphael paused, a tender smile spreading across his face, "I like that name too."

Unbeknownst to him, after he closed the door, Elissa's smile lingered, her heart staying lifted in the quiet of the morning. Elissa was delighted to see Raphael showing such care for her and their baby.

Later, she began tidying up their compact apartment, which she always kept immaculately clean.

She placed two roses in small vases, adding a touch of color.

While reading on the sofa, Elissa could glance up and enjoy the sight of the fresh roses, their bright blooms enhancing her mood.

Around 1@ in the morning, she set her book aside, thinking it was time for a break.

Then, unexpectedly, there was a knock at the door.

Curious, as few knew of their new address, she wondered if Raphael had forgotten something.

Peering through the peephole, she was surprised to see her mother, Marcia, looking distressed and disheveled.

Despite their strained last meeting, Elissa opened the door, her voice filled with concern, “Mom, what's wrong? What happened?”

Marcia stood shivering, soaked to the skin.

It dawned on Elissa that it had rained the previous night-a storm she'd slept through, cocooned securely in Raphael's embrace.
