Chapter: 4800
She then responded, "Don't bother about that. I'll find myself another maid!"
Brantley pondered a bit and then said, "I can take the school bus by myself. One of my classmates mentioned there's a bus stop nearby, so you don't need to bother with driving me to school every day."
Although it was a good thing for a boy to have a sense of independence, Elissa believed that Brantley was still too young to go out on his own. Besides, he didn't have a strong personality, so she was a bit apprehensive.
After thinking it over, she said, "I'll walk you to the bus stop for the next few days. Concerning the maid, I'll call the agency and tell them to find me a trustworthy person immediately."
Brantley nodded eagerly when he heard this.
He ate a lot of food not because he was particularly hungry but because he wanted to grow up fast and take care of Elissa and her baby.
Elissa seemed to understand what he was thinking. She patted his head and said, "Eating this much food all at once will not make you grow faster but will only make you overweight!"
Hearing this, Brantley turned red with embarrassment.
Elissa patted his head affectionately.
After their meal, Elissa was tidying up the table while Brantley offered to take out the trash. He had just recovered from being sick, so Elissa was hesitant at first. But he insisted, saying he felt fine, so she reluctantly agreed and told him to come back quickly.
Shortly after, Brantley returned.
But his face looked a bit gloomy.
Elissa finished washing the dishes and then prepared a plate of fruit for Brantley. Sitting across from him, she inquired, “What's wrong?"
Brantley pouted with a blushed face.
After a moment, he told her why he was upset.
He caught sight of their old maid while taking out the trash and discovered that she had been hired by another family in the building.
The little boy didn't fully grasp the situation, but he understood that the maid had quit because she wasn't comfortable taking care of him, seeing him as a burden.
Elissa was kind of stunned to hear this from Brantley.
She felt a little angry. She had once been a proud person, but now people treat her like she's not worthy of their respect. Suddenly, she realized what the maid meant with her parting words. She obviously meant to say that Elissa deserved better than someone Like Raphael.
But then she stroked Brantley's head and said softly, "Everyone has the right to make their own choices. We might not agree, but we need to respect their choices, okay?"
Brantley nodded in understanding.
After they finished the fruit, Elissa told Brantley to go back to his room and take a nap. Then she contacted the agency and asked them to find another maid as soon as possible, with the same requirements as before. The agent informed her there might be a two-week wait due to an insufficiency of applicants. Elissa didn't mind, as she still had a few months before the baby was due.
On her way back, she ran into her formal maid.
In fact, she was having a chat with some people.
