Chapter: 4805
Raphael nodded, concerned. "Why didn't you tell me?"
With a slight smile, Elissa explained, "I thought I could handle it myself. I also didn't want to burden you with such nonsense. You've got a new business to focus on after all, and it's crucial. Managing both family and business is tough. Are you sure you want to do this, Raphael?"
Raphael's eyes welled up at Elissa's words.
He embraced her tightly.
Trembling, he said, “Elissa, wherever I go, you and our kid go with me! I'll take care of Brantley too. With me around, no one can mess with you!"
Elissa wanted to assert her strength but, seeing Raphael's tears, she softened.
Resting her head against his chest, she whispered, “Okay! From now on, we stick together! Wherever you go, I'll be right there with you, Raphael!"
Now that the decision was made, both Raphael and Elissa were eager to begin.
Later that evening, Raphael accompanied Brantley to the school to sort out paperwork for his transfer.
By the time they returned, it was supper time.
Near the building, they bumped into that maid once more.
Brantley gave a polite nod while Raphael remained silent, noting the maid's odd expression upon seeing them.
As they entered home, Elissa was busy packing.
Raphael offered to help, saying, "Let me handle this!"
He guided her to the couch and took charge of the packing. Growing up, he was accustomed to such tasks, surpassing Elissa's efficiency.
"Are we cancelling the lease?" Elissa inquired.
Raphael grinned. "Nope! We'll be back. In six months, maybe. We'll return here in spring. But we won't be renting this place for long. I reckon we'll have our own place soon... Elissa, what kind of home do you envision?"
She pondered a good while before responding.
“I'm thinking a cozy villa of around two hundred square meters. A small garden would be lovely. We could get a puppy for Brantley and our little one can play there."
Raphael nodded. His tone was serious. “These next two years might be tight for me. I might need you to help cover the mortgage. Once I'm back on my feet, I'll repay you double."
Elissa remained silent.
He glanced at her, grinning. "Are you not on board? Well, then we'll have to hold off, or maybe opt for a smaller place first and upgrade later when I can afford it Elissa smiled. "No worries, I'm in."
How could she refuse?
His request signaled respect and trust which was just what she'd hoped for.
