Chapter: 4812
Later, Mark went personally to check on Elissa.
As he walked in and looked around, he couldn't help but remark, "Wow, it's indeed a nice room! Very perfect for your recuperation. I'm sure they'll take good care of you, and the kids can stay in the spare room. From time to time, Raphael can come here to do his work too."
What he had outlined was indeed the most convenient arrangement.
Raphael couldn't say no to it. He could only thank Mark profusely.
"Well, it seems we're done here," Mark said to Cecilia. "We need to get going. We have another new mom to check on."
Cecilia nodded in understanding.
She liked Brantley very much, so she gave him her phone number and address, and asked him to come visit her in Evans Gardon whenever he was on vacation. But the boy didn't know if he could make such a promise. He had to turn to Raphael for permission.
“It's okay. If you wanna visit, you can," Raphael assured him, ruffling his hair affectionately.
Now that he had the permission he sought, Brantley looked at Cecilia and nodded happily.
As Cecilia left with Mark, she turned around and took one last look at the family of four again with mixed feelings in her heart. "Do you still have any regrets?" Mark asked her when they had gone outside. “They seem very happy together."
Cecilia held his arm and shook her head in the negative. “No. No regrets. I feel very happy for them. Raphael is a good man and his wife is a good woman. With Brantley and the new-born baby, the home will be very Lively."
Mark broke into a smile and replied with a shrug, "I don't like kids. They can be very noisy. Look at our house. It's full of children. Whenever Waylen decides to come and visit us with his grandkids, I might not be able to find a place to sit down.”
“Liar!" Cecilia sneered playfully. “You can't fool me. I know you love the kids to pieces."
Mark couldn't dispute it. He could only hold her hand and smile.
She was very correct. He was leading a happy life with a good wife, two beautiful children and many grandkids. To be sure, he was more than satisfied.
Meanwhile, back at the hospital room, the family of four were now alone.
Squatting on the edge of the bed, Raphael stroked his wife's hair and said in a gentle tone, "Thank you."
Elissa's face looked a little pale, but she was smiling nonetheless...
“Bring the baby here let me have a look at him. I want to see him, she said to Raphael."
He did just as she had asked.
The baby was soft, small and not very good-looking. It looked Like a little monkey.
But Brantley was very fond of him. He followed the baby closely and looked at him all the time with curious eyes. But when Elissa started to breast-feed the little one, he blushed and ran into the next room.
At this point, the ward became a lot quieter. Elissa looked down at her son for a moment.
Then she said to Raphael, “We owe Mr. Evans a big favor this time and we must repay the kindness sometime in the future."
