Chapter: 4854
Beside him, Laura leaned gently against his shoulder, clutching his arm. Her reliance on him brought him comfort. He turned to her and shared a quiet smile.
Since Mark was doing well, Edwin flew back to Duefron on a private jet that night.
Laura stayed behind to help Cecilia pack. They knew they wouldn't return often after moving, perhaps only visiting Zoey's grave once a year. Thus, most of their belongings would be shipped to their new home.
Dylan's secretary had purchased a large villa covering 2000 square meters, spacious enough for the entire family.
The dog, Dolly, had settled into the new house, eagerly awaiting the return of her owners.
At Evans Gardon, the household staff was busily packed, though some were anxious about their job security.
Olivia and Dylan were discussing this matter.
He looked at her, smiled, and said, "That's easy! We'll keep half the staff here maintaining the house, and the rest will move to our new villa. We need the help, and it's better to retain familiar faces. Your parents are comfortable with them."
"Good idea," Olivia said.
She was busy packing her books.
"It's rare to hear you compliment me. I'm flattered, Mrs. Wright!"
Dylan teased, leaning in close.
"I'm not Mrs. Wright. We're not married yet," Olivia corrected him before resuming her packing.
Dylan wasn't upset. “I've been looking after your parents like a dutiful son-in-law. To me, you're already my wife. Besides, relationships like ours are quite common from where I grew up. Regardless, people will still address you as Mrs. Wright since you're indeed my partner."
Olivia laughed and retorted, "That's a convenient excuse! What? Are you worried about what your friends might think?"
He didn't deny it. “Yes! Miss Evans, please spare my pride. Don't let on that we're living together without being married."
Olivia's smile showed her good spirits.
They were alone in the study, away from the kids. The setting was perfect... He lifted her onto the desk and leaned in for a kiss. She didn't pull away but instead reached up to embrace him, returning his kiss.
After their lengthy kiss, Dylan murmured, “Is this my reward?"
Olivia shook her head. "No!"
