Chapter: 4906
Elva didn't want to cook either, but she knew she couldn't rely on Luis for that task. Perhaps Luis chose Holley because he needed someone to manage the household chores. In that sense, they were a perfect match!
She washed some vegetables, took out a small package of sausages, and grabbed a handful of eggs.
But she needed a lighter to start the fire.
When she asked Luis for it, he smirked and said, "If you want the lighter, you'll have to agree to share food with me!"
Elva sneered. "You wish!"
Luis crossed his arms and replied, "Well, if you're that stubborn, we'll starve together!"
Elva muttered a curse under her breath, but in the end, she agreed to his terms. She reluctantly fetched a few more eggs from the fridge but refused to share the sausages and vegetables. Seeing this, Luis, standing behind her, asked softly, "You think this is enough for both of us?"
Elva retorted, "If the crew of this program doesn't show up with new supplies, we might run short. We need to be cautious with what we have."
Her tone was gentle and soft, almost soothing.
Luis was unexpectedly moved by her words. He couldn't pinpoint why he felt this way, but later he realized it was something he never felt with Holley-genuine care and concern.
Since she had to share the meal with Luis, Elva asked him to help.
Surprisingly, Luis was quite cooperative.
Elva scrambled the eggs with the sausage and made a simple but delicious vegetable salad.
Luis devoured his portion in no time.
Thanks to this ridiculous TV show, he hadn't eaten until now. The food was barely enough to satisfy his hunger. Noticing this, Elva silently transferred some of her meal to his plate.
Stunned, Luis asked, "You eat so little?"
Elva lowered her head, eating gracefully. After a while, she said softly, “After lunch, you'll wash the dishes and clean up the kitchen. By the way, there's a funny smell on the blankets and bed sheets. I think there might be bugs."
Luis was amused, thinking Elva was indeed a pampered girl.
While finishing his food slowly, he asked, "There's only one bed here. Are we sharing it?"
Without missing a beat, Elva replied, "You'll sleep on the couch, and I'll spare you a blanket! If you have any objections, you're free to make your meals for the next few days.”
