Chapter: 4910
But all of a sudden, Elva placed a hand on his forehead.
Luis was shocked and confused.
He glanced at her hand and he couldn't help but notice how slender and beautiful it was. But as she was about to withdraw it, he grabbed it and asked her in a low and hoarse voice, “What the hell are you doing?"
"Just trying to find out whether you have a fever," Elva replied, shaking off his hand. “Anyway, you look quite different."
Luis knew she was only mocking him.
He narrowed his eyes and stared at her for a long time before grumbling in a low voice, “You're being so disobedient. I think you need a firm hand to handle you."
But Elva retorted by scolding him, accusing him of being cruel.
Then, to his surprise, she got up and drank the ginger tea voluntarily. Instantly, she began to feel much better.
As was her habit, she handed the glass back to him and made a request.
"Luis, I want a plum candy," she demanded.
But as soon as the words left her mouth, reality suddenly dawned on her and they both froze.
Back when they were still together, he used to be very patient and caring towards her. Whenever she had to take medicine when she was sick, he would give her a plum candy afterwards. This was how he spoiled her.
Elva blinked when she finally recovered her composure.
"I'm sorry for that. Slip of tongue," she apologized with a smile.
Ignoring her apology, Luis looked straight at her for a moment. Then he said, "I don't have any plum candy with me. But I remember that back then, apart from the candy, your favorite thing was..."
He didn't go on. Instead, he decided to replace words with actual action.
Holding the back of her neck, he pressed her against him in such a way that their foreheads were pressed together.
Both of them were short of breath, and their lips were slightly parted, which was a clear indication of what was likely to follow.
Without hesitation, Luis kissed her on the lips.
The kiss was deep and passionate albeit gentle.
