Chapter: 4935
Elva found his words distasteful, quite unlike him; he was usually reserved and distant with her.
She said defiantly, "I've had many men! You're not the only one."
She acted like a pampered princess again.
Yet, he found her childish demeanor endearing. Smiling, he said to her, “Elva, I love it when you act like a bit immature in front of..."
Elva stared at Luis intently.
After a thoughtful pause, she murmured gently, “Luis, I believe you're sincere, but I can't go through that pain again! Do you understand how much it hurt when you left me?"
She moved away from him and sat down on the other end of the sofa as she spoke to Luis.
Staring at the blue sky, she continued in a more depressed voice, "You know, there were some really good times when we were together, but all I can remember now are the painful moments! Initially, we met regularly at the apartment, but later on, it felt like you just grew tired of it. I get that work keeps you busy and often not in the mood for dates."
"However, as time passed, it felt like you only reached out to me to satisfy your sexual need. What you didn't realize is that I lived there all the time, even during the days you did not. I hesitated to leave too many of my things there because I was afraid that you might think I was too serious about us."
"Honestly, at first, I did take our relationship seriously. But eventually, I understood that the apartment was just a convenient place for your flings. I don't know how you managed before, but I did see Holley there after we broke up... Luis, how could you treat me so harshly?! I thought of that place as our home, but you were quick to bring your new girlfriend there for sex! That's why when I left, I took nothing but my personal belongings I put there when I moved in," Elva said emotionally.
Despite the time that had passed, the painful memories still haunted her. She had truly loved Luis with all her heart...
"I never had to do chores at my parents' house. Back then, I did everything for you, but you just took it for granted and even started seeing a simple waiter behind my back!"
When Luis moved to embrace her, Elva quickly stepped aside.
Then she continued flatly, “You've come back to me only because things with Holley didn't work out! Luis, I might agree to marry you for my own reasons, but I'll never love you again!"
Elva's feelings were unmistakably clear to Luis.
Indeed, marrying Elva wasn't the only solution to the crisis.
However, Luis couldn't bear the thought of losing her again.
On the other hand, he disagreed with Elva's perspective. He did Love her, and it had nothing to do with Holley. He had only just realized how significant Elva was to him... Though living so remotely in a mountain village was the last thing he wanted, those few days had surprisingly been quite relaxing.
He had never taken a break to simply enjoy time with a woman as if on vacation.
It wasn't that he couldn't leave the place on foot, but Luis chose to stay because he genuinely enjoyed being there with Elva.
