Chapter: 148
“Help me, Rosalynn. I'll take responsibility after that."
Brian leaned closer, his eyes blazing with desire.
Scenes from their first night together flashed in Rosalynn's mind.
Back then, he had also said that he would repay her for the favor.
Did this man just go around promising a boon to every woman he slept with?
Rosalynn felt a warm hand on her leg, only to realize that it was slowly creeping its way up to her thigh.
His hot breath fanned against her neck, making her shiver. Without giving it another second's thought, Rosalynn pulled a silver needle out of her bracelet and stabbed it into his arm.
Brian's brows furrowed, but he did pause in his actions. He stopped moving altogether and grew limp.
Rosalynn mustered all her strength and pushed him away, sending him sprawled on his back. She took one look at his handsome face before pricking other places on his body.
He certainly looked less domineering when he was unconscious, almost peaceful, even.
With pursed lips, Rosalynn took a brief moment to appreciate his features.
Why did he have to be so superficial? He looked like a Greek god, but he was a bastard to all women.
Nobody was perfect, indeed, and one could not have it all.
Meanwhile, Arya was meticulously watching the time. She was certain that Rosalynn and Chaz must be having sex at this point, so she went and sought out Dayana.
“Dayana, have you seen your husband?"
Dayana had just finished dancing with an acquaintance. She looked around and said, "No, | haven't. Why, is there anything wrong?”
"So, he hasn't come out yet?" Arya muttered loud enough for Dayana to hear, though she acted as if she was talking to herself.
“What is it?" Dayana probed.
Arya took a deep breath, pretending to summon some courage, before saying, "| saw him about half an hour ago. He seemed to be drunk, and some woman was escorting him to the lounge."
Dayana's face instantly darkened. She turned and strode toward the elevator.
A sinister smile appeared on Arya's face, but it was gone in the next second.
"Please calm down," she called out as she hurried after the other woman.
