Chapter: 160
Descending the stairs, Baxter led Arya to where Merrick and Rosalynn were sampling tea.
He greeted them, beaming.
"Good morning. Care to join us for a cup of tea?" Merrick invited them.
Rosalynn lowered her eyes. After the pair settled in, she stood up and poured them each a cup.
"Please enjoy the tea."
"Thank you."
Noting Rosalynn's composure, Baxter and Arya took their cups and sipped.
"Delightful tea. Who crafted this blend?"
As a tea aficionado, Baxter couldn't help but praise it.
"Rosalynn taught me," Dayana replied, her smile warm and genuine.
Baxter turned to Rosalynn and lauded, "Rosalynn, your expertise is admirable. I'd be honored to have an assistant like you. Should you ever wish to change companies, I'd welcome you with open arms. Rest assured, your desires would be met."
His flattery, an attempt to sway her allegiance.
He was handing her a thinly veiled olive branch.
Brian's eyes narrowed, a fierce glare directed at Baxter.
The audacity of this man, poaching his employee in front of him!
"We have different minds. | doubt your wish will ever materialize," Rosalynn retorted coldly.
Brian's features softened. He sipped his tea and observed Rosalynn with intrigue.
Baxter's smile, however, dissipated.
"How arrogant you are."
Unfazed, Rosalynn replied, "Honesty is paramount in business. Wouldn't you agree?"
"Of course,” Baxter responded coldly.
"Then, you're hardly a suitable partner for anyone," Rosalyn declared.
