Chapter: 163
Taking the hint, Arya quickly bowed her head.
"| apologize, sir. | was tricked in my haste."
“How could you be so careless?" Baxter glared at Arya.
"For your past dedication, | won't fire you, but | will deduct your entire year-end bonus.”
"Thank you, sir."
Their collaboration allowed Baxter to shift the blame onto Arya.
Coldness filled his eyes as he regarded Rosalyn.
"| can explain these two incidents. They were our mistakes, but they don't reflect our honesty.”
“Im not finished yet,” Rosalynn said calmly.
What?
What was it this time?
Baxter's face clouded over as Rosalynn continued, "Yesterday at the racecourse, my horse lost control. Arya was responsible."
She knew about that too!
Baxter's heart plummeted, and he turned to Arya.
A flicker of panic crossed her eyes.
"Rosalynn, don't slander me."
“I'm not slandering you." Rosalynn locked eyes with Arya.
"Yesterday, before heading to the racecourse, you visited a pharmacy and purchased a drug that can make horses in heat.
The pharmacy's surveillance footage is proof. Why did you buy that medication? For your personal consumption?”
Arya's face paled, blindsided by Rosalynn's revelation.
"|... bought it for my pet. Is that a crime?"
"Really? Are the drugs here better than those from your hometown?" Rosalynn scoffed.
