Chapter: 236
Just as he was about to say something, his phone rang.
It was a call from Aldrich.
"Aldrich."
“Brian, my cousin gave me two million, and I've already transferred it to the finance department. I apologize for the inconvenience."
The two million represented the funds Carson had embezzled over the past two years.
Brian suspected that Carson had taken more than that amount. But he chose not to pursue the matter further.
“Aldrich, I believe you were unaware of your cousin's actions. You'd better advise him to behave himself in the future."
In the world of business, few were completely innocent.
Additionally, Carson was Aldrich's cousin.
For Aldrich's sake, Brian opted to let the issue slide.
Overhearing the conversation, Eleanor guessed that Brian was discussing the construction team with Aldrich.
It seemed there was still room for negotiation.
She could use the situation to help Moira.
After ending the call, Brian noticed that Eleanor was still in his office, so he asked, “Is there anything else?"
Eleanor answered, “When I came here, I overheard someone mentioning that the construction team was going to be fired. These workers have served the company for many years. It's a shame to see them fired.”
Brian narrowed his eyes, waiting for Eleanor to continue.
“Nobody can live without making mistakes. As Long as they correct them, it shouldn't be a big problem. Why not consider giving them another chance if they acknowledge their mistakes? By doing so, they may become more appreciative of the company and work even harder in the future.”
Eleanor put on a concerned expression and awaited Brian's response.
Brian's face was expressionless, and she could not tell whether he was angry.
“Remember what I said before, Eleanor? Just mind your own business."
He was unsure why she brought up the topic, but he disliked her meddling in his affairs.
Did she truly see herself as his girlfriend?
