Chapter: 239
After a moment, she managed to say in a trembling voice, "This woman is Yana Shear, my cousin, who is just a few months older than me. It Looks like she's stolen something from me yet again."
The woman was Maggie's cousin?
Rosalynn was taken aback.
“Has your cousin taken things from you multiple times?"
"Yes." Maggie nodded with anger in her red eyes.
“Yana is my uncle's daughter. Their family runs a business and is quite wealthy. My family, on the other hand, is poor. My parents work at my uncle's factory.
Since I was a child, I've always been more Likable than Yana, which has made her jealous and driven her to take things from me. As children, she would tell me she was a princess, and because my family was poor, I was only fit to be her servant.
I couldn't stand her, but my parents insisted that I should be grateful to my uncle and keep her happy.
So, every time she took my favorite toy, I had to bear it. Every time she pushed my friends away from me, I had to endure it. It upset me, so I stopped making friends and focused on my studies.
I can still recall during my junior year, a classmate who sat in front of me confessed his feelings to me on our way home from school. Yana saw it. The next day, she appeared in our class, smiling, and began talking to him. She even asked him to help with her homework.
She was rich and well-dressed. The boy was soon captivated by her and distanced himself from me. Anytime someone was kind to me, whether it was a boy or a girl, she would take them away. It wasn't until she went abroad to study in our senior year that I finally felt some relief.
Later, I got accepted into Wragos University. My boyfriend admitted his feelings for me. I believed he was the only one who hadn't been seduced by Yana, so he must be my true love, and I chose to be with him. But I never expected...”
Maggie covered her mouth, too heartbroken to continue.
Rosalynn listened in silence, feeling anger and sympathy for Maggie.
Her eyes turned red.
In this world, most people were kind.
But there were always a few who took pleasure in demeaning others.
“Maggie, don't cry. Anyone who can be taken away isn't worthy of your love." Rosalynn gently patted her shoulder, offering comforting words.
‘ll be fine. I need to wash my face in the bathroom." Maggie sniffled, wiped her tears, and forced a smile.
Rosalynn nodded, watching her head to the bathroom with a heavy heart, and took a deep breath.
She hadn't anticipated Maggie having such a relative.
Could she do something to help Maggie?
