Chapter: 271
What was wrong with being ordinary?
Were ordinary people somehow inferior?
Summoning her courage, Maggie retorted, “I once believed that girls of wealthy families were well-educated. Now I see how wrong I was. You gossip even more than rural women. Filthy thoughts breed filthy minds.”
Maggie didn't want to talk to them anymore. After saying that, she stood up and walked to a corner. She took a big gulp of wine, ignoring their angry expressions.
Meanwhile, a couple gathered near the dartboard.
A man threw ten rings, earning applause from his female companion.
Rosalynn found it intriguing.
“Ever played before?" Brian asked softly.
Rosalynn shook her head.
"No."
“Would you Like me to teach you?"
“No, thanks."
Rosalynn simply wanted to keep her distance from him.
However, the man seemed unsure of his actions, trailing her relentlessly.
“You're sharp. You'll pick this up on your own," Brian complimented, arching an eyebrow.
Rosalynn understood he referred to play pool.
She grinned.
“Thank you for the praise.”
Her modesty was noticeably absent.
Brian laughed.
“I admire your confidence.“
She reminded him of himself.
