Rosalynn could no longer contain her laughter.

“Don't worry. I guess Sanford won't hold it against you. Come, let's have breakfast."

Maggie scratched her head and nodded in agreement.

After breakfast, they both walked out of the apartment and bumped into Sanford in the elevator.

‘Good morning." Rosalynn returned his greeting with a smile of her own.

Maggie also greeted him back. But unlike Rosalynn, she looked embarrassed.

Her seemingly hesitant response made Sanford raise an eyebrow.

“I don't believe we've met before, have we?"

“No." Maggie shook her head.

“Should I expect a beating?"

Maggie was speechless with embarrassment.

She wanted the floor to swallow her right where she stood.

“I apologize for Last night. I had drunk too much.”

Maggie's cheeks burned.

An evil smile curved on Sanford's lips.

“I see. Is it a habit of yours to get violent when you're inebriated?"

Maggie didn't know what to say to that. She wasn't the type to go drinking.

“I'm sorry. Maggie has not been in the best spirits Lately. Please let it slide." Rosalynn spoke for Maggie, sensing her shock.

Sanford looked at Maggie and gave her a once-over.

"Let me guess. Boy problems?”

She kept saying that she wanted to kill him.

Alcohol had the effect of bringing the truth to the surface. If he was right on the mark, some jerk had cheated on her, and he just happened to be the unfortunate victim of her repressed anger
