Chapter: 291
Maggie sniffled and wiped her tears away.
“You're right. I won't shed any more tears for him. He's not worth it."
As Maggie began to regain her composure, Rosalynn asked, "What's your plan now? Will you just let him get away with this?"
Maggie didn't come from a rich family.
The money she had given Lloyd was the result of years of part-time work.
And yet she gave all of her money to that bastard.
“No way. I'll stand up for myself," Maggie replied, taking a deep breath before dialing Lloyd's number.
After many rings, he finally picked up.
“Hey, Maggie. What's going on? Why are you calling out of the blue?”
"Lloyd, meet me at Tea Coffee at 5:30 tonight. There's something we need to discuss," Maggie stated firmly.
“Why can't we talk about it at home?"
“It's very important. That's it. I'll see you later."
With that, Maggie ended the call.
Concerned for her friend's safety, Rosalynn offered her support.
"I'LL go with you Later."
Grateful, Maggie nodded in agreement.
"Thank you."
That evening, Rosalynn went with Maggie to Lloyd's rental apartment.
Maggie packed up all her personal belongings. Then she threw the small, insignificant things she had bought into the trash bin.
After cleaning up, Maggie took one last look at the place, her eyes turning red with unshed tears.
She had built her hopes for their future in this tiny apartment. They were supposed to spend the rest of their lives together. It turned out that it was all wishful thinking and naivety on her part.
Rosalynn went over and held her while she wept.
