“Auntie,” Selina greeted warmly.

Noemi Cruz, Brian's mother, smiled at their arrival.

"I had just woken up when Deanna told me you two were on your way. Did you come together?"

Moving to the bedside, Selina took Noemi's hand, concern in her eyes.

"I had just returned from overseas when I heard about your accident. I came right away with Brian. I'm glad it wasn't as serious as we feared."
