But Raegan didn't dare to sleep, let alone close her eyes. She forced herself to stay awake, watching outside as the car sped through the night.

She noticed they gradually left the populated area, and the surroundings became more and more desolate. It seemed they were entering the suburbs.

Both sides of the road were pitch black, and there were no signs of living things in the surroundings.
