She hesitated for a moment before she pressed the answer button.

"“Raegan, are you home safe? I heard from Henley that..."

"Nicole..." Raegan immediately interrupted before Nicole could finish her words. Her heart raced.

"What is it?"

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me, okay? Let's talk next time. I'm going to sleep now."

After saying this, Raegan hung up the phone without waiting for Nicole to say anything more.
